  • Selected to play in the National Roy Hobbs 40 and Over Baseball World Series in Ft. Myers, Florida from 2003-2006

Inducted in Minerva Alumni Hall of Fame in 2005

  • 1920 - 1925  member of Bridgeport & Toledo Mudhens

  • His last season he batted .385

  • In 1929, he won batting title with Massillon in Central League .384

  • 1929 as a pitcher, he chalked up 17 consecutive wins

  • 1954 organized and was first president of Minerva’s Junior Baseball League

  • 1961 elected to Canton Baseball Hall of Fame

  • 1939 - 1942  member of Cleveland Indians

  • 1941 made putout at first base that stopped Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak

  • 1943 - 1946 member of New York Yankees

  • 1950 ended his career in Sally League at Greenville, South Carolina as Player/Manager

  • In 1921 and 1922  Captain of the Chicago Cubs

  • He missed the National League Batting Title by a Percentage Point .354 in 1922

  • His record of 17 consecutive games with an RBI is still a record in Major League Baseball

  • 1920 member of the New York Giants

  • In 1920, he played with brothers Ray and Ken in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in the Eastern League (First family to do this)

  • 1928 Played for Toledo Mudhens and batted .407

  • Member of the Minerva Athletic Booster Club over 18 years

  • President of Athletic Boosters from 1985-1991

  • Has helped with building many facility upgrades over the years including:

    • The Fieldhouse

    • Stadium Pressbox

    • Stadium Bleachers

  • He has Filmed with Lloyd Hays all varsity football and varsity boys basketball games for over 24 years

  • He also filmed wrestling for 6 years
